Shaniwar Wada Palace

I went and checked out the ruins of the Shaniwar Wada Palace yesterday. There isn't much left of the palace beside the walls and gate due to a massive fire in 1828. The palace was built in 1732 and was the seat of the Peshwa, the prime ministers of the Maratha Empire. As I said, not much is left of it, but the grounds are beautiful. It's difficult to believe when you're standing inside the palace walls that the city is hustling and bustling outside.
Just like at the museum earlier that day, a number of people tried to chat with me... most with rather limited language skills.
